There’s been a lot of improvments in guns since I last shot competitive field target. Case in point: The Steyr LG110 High Power, based on Steyr’s very successful 10M LG100 Matchline target gun.
The LG110 is available in both FT and High Power hunting versions, with the hunting model also being available in .22 caliber, and with a claimed power of 40 joules- that’s 29.5 foot-pounds, which is about as much energy as you can safely push a .22 pellet with. Price? Around $1600 and up, depending on model and accessories. You can get LG100 with the illustrated wood stock, or a fully synthetic stock.
Steyr advertises the High Power for “vermin control”, but I suppose that’s EU code for “hunting.”
